Perfect Skin In 5 Minutes
No time to spare for your skincare routine? Here are some tips to show you how to make every second count.
Take two minutes.... to double cleanse
This is essential to remove every trace of dirt from your skin. First, wet skin with warm water, gently massage in your cleanser, then wash off to remove superficial dirt and make up. Next, apply more cleanser, dampen a muslin cloth with warm water, place over your face and take a few deep breaths to relax. Then buff your face in circular motions- this will help decongest your T-zone.
Take 30 seconds...to tone up
a toner or a splash of cold water will constrict capillaries to reduce redness, de-puff and tighten skin.
Take one minute...to moisturise
To get the most out of your moisturiser, take time to really work it into the skin. Massage will help stimulate circulation, drain fluids(so easing puffiness) and deliver the nutrients from the cream deep into the skin. Using a firm motion, start from your nose and push outwards and up towards your hairline, moving gradually down your face.
Take 90 seconds...to even out
It is important to let your moisturiser sink in before applying make up, so you get an even surface. Get into the routine of brushing your teeth or putting your rollers in while you're waiting.

How To Keep Your Eyelashes Curled All Day
Have this happen to you before? When you have all your makeup done beautifully, put your mascara on and the lashes not stay curled long enough as we wish? That's really annoying right??As you know mascara really helps to compliment the eye shadows. These are the tricks to keep your eyelashes stay curled all day.. Be realistic, I mean keep it curled for all day(much much longer) not 24 hours..ok? :P
Step 1 : Get a good eyelash curler.. (Mac & Shu uemura make a good one).. It's important to have a good tool.
Step 2 : Use waterproof mascara as it's oil based, normal mascara is water based.(Imagine you want to curl your hair and put water on your hair .. it will goes down straight away)
Step 3 : Use the curler to clamp it down at the base of the lash and squeeze as tight as you can without harming yourself ; release it slightly, move it up and squeeze again to get a gradual curls
Step 4 : Wiping off the excess mascara on a tissue. Apply a light coat of waterproof mascara, let it dry.
Step 5 : Re-curl your lashes again -slightly wiggle right at the root and brush up to apply your final coat of mascara.
Voila, your eyelashes will keep curled all day long!! *Wink* *Wink*

Perfect Brow Tips
You always heard " Eyes are the window to the soul"..
How about Eyebrows???
Yes, that's right!! Eyebrows are equally important because it helps to frame the face..
We've all been there, done that : standing in front of a mirror, tweezer in hand, asking ourselves, " Why??!!", after a terrible brow tastrophe. These are some tips and tricks to share on how to get a perfect brows?
First off let's start with "WHAT NOT TO DO." Here are the top five no-nos when grooming your brows.
1. Being too thin. Thin brows tend to make you look older and heavier.
2. Zooming in. Using a magnifying mirror makes you over-pluck.
3. Matching. Brows should compliment your skin not match your hair.
4. Trimming. You only need to trim your brows if you have a high arch.
5. Pointed tweezers. Pointed tweezers can break the skin, stick with a slanted pair for plucking.
Top Tools
Brow Pencil
Frame your brows perfectly in a beautiful Brunette. Keep the wood pencil sharp for dramatic brows, or use a softer tip with feathering strokes for a more natural look.
Eyebrow Brush
Use an Eyebrow Brush to brush brows in the opposite direction from which they grow to remove any excess foundation. Gently brush back, following their natural shape and direction, as a finishing touch to your makeup application.
Concealer
Dot below brows to create definition.
Eye Color
For a softer look fill in and define brows with shades that match your brows.
Tweezers
Stick with slanted tweezers with a wide grip.
Eyebrow Shaping
When comes to eyebrows shaping, you can choose either waxing, tweezing or threading.. It's really depends on individual preference and your eyes shape. For me, i prefer tweezing because is great for precision and is safe for even the most sensitive skin.
~ Go slow and re-check your progress often.
~ A mistake can take 3-6 months to grow back. You don't have to do it all in one day. Stop if you feel unsure.
Easy steps for a perfect brow:
* Place an eye pencil or a handle of a thin brush at the outer edge of the nose.
* Keep the base of the pencil fixed at the nose and rotate it to find key brow dimension points.
* Vertically it aligns where the brow should generally start. Allow the inner part of the brow to begin a little bit inward beyond the vertical line.
* Aligning with the center of the pupil of the eye, it locates the high point of the arch.
* Aligned with the outer lower edge of the eye, it locates the point where the brow should end.
* The beginning and end of brow should be at the same height. Tweeze from below the brow, not above.
Are you ready to get your perfect eyebrows done? What method of shaping brows do you prefer?
Please feel free to comment and share your ' before & after' eyebrow shaping picture if you have try this out..x

~ Brows that are well shaped can make the most dramatic impact of any facial feature to create a beautiful look. For example:
- Small eyes : best with thinner eyebrow to add more space between the eye and the brow. This gives the illusion that the eye is bigger than it appears.
- Deep- set eyes : higher arch to open up the eye.
- Close-set eyes: required a bit more space between the two brows to appear as if they are further apart.
- Wide-set eyes : the brow should be closer together to give the illusion that the eyes aren't far apart.
~ Go slow and re-check your progress often.

Tribute to Saloma MIFA Exhibition
Hi Everyone,
I was at the Tribute to Saloma MIFA exhibition today at The Twelve, Farenheit 88 and i must say the whole event was so amazing. All the fashionable peoples, celebrities, photographers, fashion bloggers, make up artists, stylists, hair experts were there mingling around. Fashion show by local designers showing all the creative collections specially tribute to Saloma . Plus the designer, Puan Nona, who was the 1st ever designer for Saloma dresses was there too..Isn't that amazing?
Oh well, some of you might ask- Who is Saloma?
She who captured the hearts of Malaysia's foremost musician-actor, P. Ramlee, and millions who had the pleasure of watching her sing live or emote on the silver screen some three or four decades ago?
Salmah Ismail was born on 23 January 1935 in Singapore. Some believed that her stage name SALOMA was given to her by Run Run Shaw of Shaw Bros when the film Salome which starred Rita Hayworth hit the Box Office. While others said it was coined by the 'love of her life' husband, P.Ramlee.
As a child, she had dreams of becoming a big 'star' and it was no surprise that she was already a household name and a 'little singing sensation' at weddings, festive and family events barely at the age of 13.
'I Am In The Mood For Love', 'Once In A While' were among the first English numbers she learnt. With that, she broke into the nightclub circuit. Her acclaimed crystal clear and melodious voice captivated and mesmerised those who came far and wide to watch her perform. Soon after, offers to act came by and like the saying goes... the rest was history.
Charming , attractive and tinged with a look of innocence, she acted in numerous films and played lead roles which featured her prominent singing ability. Along with her husband, Saloma was a lead member of Panca Sitara Group. She also sung with the Kalung Senandung Group at Radio Singapura.
In 1961 Saloma married fellow actor P.Ramlee, an affable man of many talents. Adored by all, the country's very own 'screen couple' was a household name. Their movies were all 'sold-outs' and each a must-see and certainly 'not to be missed'.
Puan Sri Saloma passing at a young age of 48 on 25 April 1983 left the nation with profound sadness and an end to a era of screen romance. Till today, her movies and those acted along with Tan Sri P.Ramlee are classics and are still screened for the enjoyment of many... it's what legends are made of.

Spring/Summer 2011 Make Up Trends
Here’s a quick look into latest Spring/ Summer 2011 make up trends! And hey, with all these in your hands you’ll be the most fashion forward person at all the parties!
1. Triangle Eyeshadow
We all know how we’re supposed to blend in a darker shade of shadow in the shape of a triangle on the outer corner of our eyes to give a little bit more depth. However, the triangle make up that I am referring to is not the one at the outer corner of our eyes, but instead it’s on inner corner of our eyes.
Using a light shade of shadow on the inner corner of our eyes is the best way to brighten up your eyes.
Or if you’re super daring and super experimentive you can always use a darker shade and do the inner corners to the eyebrows for a bold, graphic look.
2. Bold Lips
I gotta say that this has to be one of my absolute favourite make up trends! I am so in love with bold red lipsticks, bright orange (not that I could ever wear this colour!) as well as lips in hot shocking pink! Totally delicious and totally eyecatching!
The thing about these bright bold lips, is that you don’t wanna make the rest of your face stand out. Instead, you wanna keep the rest of your face totally minimal and just let the lipstick speak for itself! Also, do try to keep your lipstick matte for a very modern and chic look.
If you find that bright bold lips a little too strong for you, but still would like to try it out. The photo above is a very good example of picking the right shade of red lipstick and pairing it with soft blush and light shimmery bronzy eyes.
3. Natural Make Up
This look is great for everyday! It’s really easy to do and really easy to wear as well! It’ll go with basically everything in your closet, and the through out the day touch up is minimal. The thing about natural make up is that you gotta make sure everything looks soft and dewy, and not harsh and powdery.
You know how you always see people who have absolutely gorgeous flawless skin from afar, then when you get closer you realise they got a ton of make up on. With this natural make up trend, we want to leave the skin looking as natural & dewy as possible, and not caked with foundation. After all, nothing can top natural beauty!
4. Bright Pastel Eye Make Up
Last but not least, bright pastel eye make up! Yeap, you heard it right! Soft pastel colours are in for the eyes as well! I know how the bright eye make up and pastel eye make up doesn’t quite gel together, but hey you can always pick a pretty pastel eye colour and then dabbing on a bit more to give it that bright, bold look. Simply fabulous!
Orange, green, blue, pink, yellow basically all these bright colours are the in thing for Spring/Summer 2011! And can I just say I am loving it already! Everyone says that your eyes are the windows to your soul, and well, if you can decorate your windows so they look pretty and stand out, you can do the very well same with your eyes!
Apply a bright wash of colour to your lids, then lining your upper lash line with black eyeliner (liquid preferably) and thick coats of black mascara on your lashes! You can choose to keep your lips minimum and nude.
Or you can choose to incorporate the latest bold lips trend and apply a bright colour on your lips, but do remember that this look is all about the eyes, so do pick a shade of lipstick that doesn’t overpower your eyeshadow.
These looks are also incorporating the bright eye make up trend, except that they are a little more toned down and not as bold as the ones above. Great for a fun day look! :)
Have a trendy make up for this Spring/ Summer, Ladies!!
Love,
Rachel W
